Performance Light Drawing, a “Fish Out of Water”, at ActingUP, At The Vanishing Point Contemporary Art, Newtown. Exhibition launch Thursday 15 July 6-9pm. Exhibtion Dates 15-25 July 2010.

On a platform raised above the crowded bar in ATVP back yard, wrapped in woolie jumpers and coat, I undertook my first performance piece. For the duration of the opening launch party I worked to install a light drawing using 10 meters of LED rope, a hammer, cable clips and A4 image of a pig. The drawing is based on a  memory of a lactating sow seen trotting across the road out side a supermarket in Panaji Goa.

Acknowledgements:  Many thanks to Brendan Penzer for coming up with yet another provoking exhibition concept – most enjoyable!  Special thanks to Gilbert Grace for constructing the platform in the gods – couldn’t done it without you.
