I was invited to join Warren Armstrong to contribute to his experimental project ‘Forms of Thought’, at Underbelly Arts Festival 2013 on Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour 23 July – 4 August 2013.
For the project I wanted create an installation that would house Warren’s complex ideas and provide an approachable and curious space for people to have their brains read and see a 3D printer process their thought over the festival event.
The experimental installation was constructed over the 10 day festival drawn into the store room Building 4 using yellow, white and aluminium duct tape. Working along side Warren as he wrangled with digital data gathered from brain wave readings and live weather readings to make a unique 3D printed leaf.
Thanks to the helping hands of Cath Roth, I made a dint on the dominant architecture and drew in colour tape a receptive synthetic dialogue in line. The ‘forms of thought’ lined the walls, floors and beams of the ship store room and moved across the corridor and down the stairwell where the drawings had the opportunity to engage with Abdul and Abdul’s installation.
